01 Arrive Delhi
Arrive Delhi, meet assistance & transfer to the hotel. Morning visit Raj Ghat - the cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi, Jama Masjid and drive past Red Fort and Chandni Chowk. Afternoon visit Qutub Minar built by Qutub-ud-Din Aibek in 1199, Humayun's Tomb, India Gate (War Memorial Arch), Lakshminarayan Temple - a modern Hindu Temple. Also drive past President's House, Parliament-House, Government Secretariat Buildings and Connaught Place shopping centre. Overnight Delhi.
02 Delhi - Kathmandu by Flight
In time transfer to airport to board flight to Kathmandu. Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Kathmandu.
03 Kathmandu
Morning visit the Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter, Mahadev and Parvati Temple and other temples. Afternoon Free. Overnight Kathmandu.
04 Kathmandu
Day at leisure. Overnight Kathmandu.
05 Kathmandu
Day at leisure. Overnight Kathmandu.
06 Kathmandu - Varanasi by Flight (These flights operate daily except Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
In time transfer to airport to board flight to Varanasi. Arrive Varanasi and transfer to hotel. Rest of the day at leisure. Overnight Varanasi.
07 Varanasi
Early morning boat excursion on the river Ganges, a ferry pilgrimage from ghat to ghat. People bathe early in the morning to offer the prayers to the rising sun. The two cremation ghats are Manikarnika & Harishchandra where funeral pyre burns day and night. Every pious Hindu believes that to die in Kashi and to be cremated on banks of the Ganges is to attain release from the cycle of birth and death. Overnight Varanasi.
08 Varanasi - Khajuraho by Flight (These flights operate only on Monday, Wednesday & Friday)
Check out from hotel at 1200 hours. In time transfer to Airport to board flight to Khajuraho. Arrive Khajuraho and transfer to hotel. Overnight Khajuraho.
09 Khajuraho - Jhansi by road & Jhansi - Agra by train
Morning visit the world famous Khajuraho temples were built by the Chandela kings between 950 AD and 1050 AD. The most important are the Chaunset Yogini Temple dedicated to Goddess Kali, The Mahadev Temple, Chitragupta or Bharatji Temple with a lovely image of 11 headed Vishnu, Vishvanath and Nandi Temples, Lakshmana Temple, Visha Temple of Shiva, which is the largest & most typical of temples. Visit the Eastern group of temples that consist of the Parasvanath Temple - the only Jain Temple surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent sculptures on the outer walls of the Sanctum, the Javeri Temple dedicated to Vishnu. The other temples in this group are those dedicated to Brahma, Yamuna and Adinath. Later drive to Jhansi Railways station to board train to Agra. Arrive Agra and transfer to Hotel. Overnight Agra.
10 Agra
Morning visit the world famous Taj Mahal built by the Moghul Emperor Shahjehan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Afternoon visit the Agra fort, the Halls of Public and Private Audience. Overnight Agra. Taj Mahal is closed on Friday.
11 Agra - Jaipur by road
Morning drive to Jaipur visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. Fatehpur Sikri is 40kms from Agra and built by Emperor Akbar in 1569 and abandoned after 15 years due to scarcity of water. See the graceful buildings including the Jama Masjid, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal and other Palaces. Overnight Jaipur.
12 Jaipur
Morning visit the Amber Fort - the ancient capital of the State. Visit the Sheesh Mahal or the Hall of Victory glittering with mirrors. Afternoon tour of Jaipur. Jaipur - the capital of Rajasthan was given a colour coat of pink a century ago in honour of a visiting Prince. Built by Maharaja Jai Singh, the notable astronomer, this city is 260 years old. Visit Maharaja's City Palace, the Observatory & Ram Niwas Gardens. Drive past Hawa Mahal & through the pink rose residential & business areas. Overnight Jaipur.
14 Full Day Excursion to Pushkar
Morning drive to Ajmer/Pushkar. Afternoon visit the Tomb of the Sufi Saint, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti, the Dargah Sharif. The city was founded by the Chauhan ruler, Aiaipal, during the 11th century & is dominated by the Taragarh Fort built by Prithviraj Chauhan. In Pushkar, visit the holy Lake and also the famous Brahma Temple. Pushkar is one of the holiest places for Hindus. Evening drive back to Jaipur. Overnight Jaipur.
14 Jaipur - Delhi by road
Morning Drive to Delhi & in time transfer to Airport to board flight for Onward Journey. No Hotel in Delhi.
