This is a wonderful seven day sojourn into the heart of the Kashmir Valley; blissfully cool even during the summer months and bursting with traditional culture and arts. Staying on one of the luxury houseboats. This short tour takes you from the frantic and colourful streets of Delhi to the peace of Kashmir's outlying hill stations nestled in the Himalayas - a fantastic glimpse into life in India's most northern state. Enjoy the day excursions, explore Kashmir valley thoroughly.
01 Delhi - Srinagar
With a warm welcome we receive you and take you to Deluxe Houseboats. Late afternoon, delightful Shikara ride on Dal Lake, a floating sight of Vegetable gardens etc. Followed by a visit to walnut woodcarving and a demonstration on paper making machine.
02 Srinagar
Your morning starts with a sightseeing of Mughal Gardens, then a visit to Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jahangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. En route visit carpet-weaving factory.
03 Srinagar - Gulmarg
Full day stay at Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea level. The distance of 60 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a short trek upto Khilangmarg, which can be covered in about 3 hrs. Also enjoy sledge riding on snow. Chair Lifts for mountain ride are also available. Lunch will be carried from Houseboat.
04 Srinagar - Pahalgam
After breakfast, we drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds). The distance of about 96 kms will be covered in about 3 hrs. Enroute visiting Saffron fields, Awantipura ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman), the beautiful countryside on the way and rice fields that welcomes you with its glowing green carpet. A drive through the Pine forest. Back to the hotel for lunch and after a short break, take bridle walks and fill your cameras with the picture of magnificent view of mountains. 05 Pahalgam - Srinagar
Drive back to Srinagar from Pahalgam and transfer to Deluxe Houseboats.
06 Srinagar
Free for Shopping and other individual activities.
07 Srinagar - Delhi
Morning transfer to bus station to take a bus to Delhi.
